Allah Yur7amu he will allways be remembered and missed. The first statesman Lebanon had one that created the bridge between poilitcs and religous freedom. He also is the only singular leader who wrote more books than practicaly the rest combined! not to mentioned published in so many languages including Chinese. Beat that Yahoo and the cutthroats that preceeded you.

CHOUF: Commemorating the passing of 29 years since the assassination of Progressive Socialist Party founder Kamal Jumblatt, popular delegations from various areas across the country flocked to the Mukhtara palace, raising the PSP and national flags, photos of the deceased and banners in support of the party.

Led by PSP leader Walid Jumblatt, the visitors, including leading political, party and parliamentary national and foreign personalities, headed for the tomb of Kamal Jumblatt.

Jumblatt and the visitors laid flowers and wreaths on the ' tomb of Kamal and his two companions Fawzi Shedid and Hafez Ghosseini before reading verses from the Koran.

In March 16, 1977, the Syrian secret services allegedly shot Kamal Jumblatt' motorcade in the Chouf, a few meters away from a Syrian checkpoint.

The head of the Russian delegation, the embassy's first adviser Alexei Solomatin, said visiting the tomb has become an annual tradition since Jumblatt's assassination. "This is very important to us and falls within the framework of strong relations between Lebanon and Russia," he added, stressing that Jumblatt had been a "dear friend" to Russia.

The delegation from Fatah led by Abdel-Qader Abdullah said Jumblatt's assassination is a "great loss to Lebanon, the Palestinian resistance and the free men of the world."

Abdullah pledged to follow in the path of Kamal Jumblatt and other major leaders in the Arab world toward the freedom of the nation.
